This research studied on the biological attributes, life tables, capacity of feeding, host range study and population study of Bagous sp. nr. nodieri Hustache. The female produced on an average 12.597 +- 11.7 eggs, and the incubation period was 1.26 +- 0.441 days. The mean durations of three larval instars were 5.67 +- 0.86, 6.86 +- 1.68 and 5.75 +- 1.11 days respectively. The pupal stage lasted 6.81 +- 1.04 days. Adult male lived for 22.13 +-21.31 days, while the male lived 33.63 +- 20.42 days. The total life cycle from egg to adult stages averaged 27.562 +- 1.75 days. The growth increment in terms of the larvae assumed with a ratio being 1.372. The life tables were the net reproductive rate(Ro) = 315408, the capacity for increase (Rc) = 0.0873, the cohort generation time (Tc) 39.5449 days and the finite rate of increase = 1.0912. Assessment of B. sp. nr. nodieri in terms of feeding capacity and damage to S. cucullata were indicative that the weevils have high potential as a biological control agent, especially when utilized in an augmentation program either itself or in combination with Criotettrix sp.
