Establishing an Integrated Soybean Industry in Uganda : Prospects and challenges
1991
Tukamuhabwa, P. (Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Kampala (Uganda). Namulonge Research Station)
Lack of improved soybean production in Uganda has been the most limiting constraint to soybean production in Uganda. Little utilization knowledge, poor research and extension linkages were limiting factors too. Availability of new improved variety through research has now enhanced marketing as a significant constraint. To address attention to these challenges calls for an integrated approach that looks into promotion of village level utilization, small and large scale processing of soybean and development of an effective marketing system backed by efficient research.
