Visualization of honey bee colony development based on brood area and adult bee numbers

Honeybee colony development is monitored routinely by measuring the number of adult bees, open brood area and sealed brood area. Within-colony population dynamics and between-group changes are visualized by plotter-graphics. Six colonies from central Switzerland, headed by sitter-queens from two different breeds, are used as an example.
