The effects of phytogenous moulting hormone on the development of ovary in ligatured silkworm pupae were studied. Results showed that, phytogenous moulting hormone can induce the development of ligatured pupae to bear matured eggs of which physiological vigor, demonstrated in parthenogenetic reproduction, is identical with normal eggs. In the process of inducing ovarial development of ligatured pupae, coexisting of juvenile hormone analogue (JHA) with moulting hormone (MH) showed negative effect, inhibiting weight increment of the ovary. There was no remarkable difference between moulting hormone dosages on inducing ovarial development in ligatured pupae from four tested silkworm varieties
