Spiders, coccinellids, predatory bugs and lacewings are the four major groups of natural enemies of cotton pests in Weinan area, Shaanxi Province, spiders being the most important group. Field studies showed that interplanting corn of 120-150 plants per mu in cotton fields increased populations of natural enemy by 62.8-115.7%, compared with the control fields. This strategy showed an obvious effect of controlling cotton bollworm, aphids, mirid bugs and cotton pink bollworm
