Three experiments were conducted in farmer's fields, southern part of Sukabumi, during rainy season 1980/81 at Lengkong and during dry season at Cikarang and Kalapanunggal. The aim of research was to study the nutrient status of rice plant on acid soils. The soil types were Red Yellow Podzolic Soil (Lengkong) and complex of Red Yellow Latosol Soil with Red Yellow Podzolic Soil (Cikarang and Kalapanunggal). The experiments were conducted in randomized block design. The treatments were N, P, K, and four levels of basic slag. The response of rice plant to N fertilizer was highly significant increasing the filled grain and straw at Lengkong. Without N fertilizer the decrease of filled grain and straw was 32 percent and 42 percent, respectively. It also decreased the number of panicles/m2, the concentration of N straw, and the amount of N content in straw and grain. There was no significant effect of N on experiment at Cikarang and Kalanunngal. The effect of -K tends to decrease the weight of filled grain in three locations. Besides, the effects of -K were decreasing K content of straw, SiO2 content of straw and grain at Cikarang and Kalapanunggal. Phosphate fertilizer affected filled grain highly significant at all locations. The levels of P after the filled grain with equations, as follows: Lengkong, Y=4224.3+15.137x-0.1141x2 R=0.9628; Cikarang Y= 2198.5+7.921x-0.0069x2 R=0.9943; Kalapanunggal Y=2538.6+13.172x-0.0240x2 R= 0.9987. The application of 2 t/ha, of basic slag/ha with high NPK levels (150 kg N/ha, 150 kg P2O5/ha, 150 kg K2O/ha) significantly increased grain yields at Lengkong and Kalapanunggal as high as 17 percent and 25 percent, respectively.
