Application of diagnosis and recommendation integrated system (DRIS) to diagnose the nutrititional requirements of pineapple

The efficacy of using diagnosis and recommendation integrated system (DRIS) as a nutrient diagnostic tool for pineapple regardless of sampling season, plantage, leaf sections, variety, location, position of leaves in the canopy, and time of sampling has been shown. Critical value diagnosis is comparable with DRIS diagnosis in identifying similar nutrients as the most limiting on those foliar analysis data which were affected by the various factors mentioned. The basic difference between the two approaches, however, is the ability of the DRIS approach to rank nutrients according to their importance to the plant.
