Evolution of the Polish pure bred Arab horse over half-century

Measurements with regard to the exterior were made on the presently living 245 brood mares and 25 leading sires from the studs in Kurozweki, Michalow, Janow Podlaski, and Bialka. It was found that for the period under study the exterior of pure bred Arab horses has not principally changed: only the girth's circumference and the fore cannon's circumference have enlarged and the trunk has become a little longer. Nowadays, the living Polish pure bred Arab horses present a levelled type of horses with harmonious conformation. It seems that a stable breeding policy is the main reason of world successes of the Polish Arab horse breeding
