The genetic structure of 46 dairy cattle herds in Poland was determinated. The correlation coefficients within herd-year groups and between sires were estimated. Changes of number of different genotype crossbred cows in herds during 3 years were analysed. Effect of the genetic structure of the herd on the milk production level in heifers was stated
