Salmonellosis is one of the most frequent foodborn diseases that can infect animals and man. In Greece a considerable number of epizoonotic or enzoonotic cases of salmonellosis in various animal species has been reported. In addition, a number of reports on salmonella infections in men has been published. In the present paper we review the literature pertaining to the spread of salmonellosis in Greece
