Novelties in the harvesting of raw fodder
1992
Kelemen, Zs.
The development of mechanical novelties has been aimed primarily at the reduction of the energy demand of cutting knives, at the improvement of the work quality and the possibility of manouvre. The suspended cutting mechanisms are produced in 1.66, 1.86 and 2.10 m operational width. For large-scale farms, the 3.3 m wide variant is produced to be used on self-propelled machines. The newly developed cutting mechanisms can well be used in harvesting lucerne and grass. The remaining stubble at a 7-12 km/h speed is low, 4-7 cm, and the swath has a uniform cross section, 90-120 cm wide and 10-20 cm high, depending on the yield. For the operation of the machines 30-35 kW output tractors are suitable, even in the case of higher grass yield
