Changes in the t-RNA and r-RNA contents of the winter wheat variety Mv 8 during the shooting phenophase were studied under field conditions as a function of the nutrition level. The RNA contents increased as the growing period advanced, the effect of age was consistently manifested. Under the given conditions, fertilization did not in general increase RNA contents during the early phases of development, and an increase was observed even in later phases only as a tendency, probably due to the more balanced nutrient supply. In winter wheat the RNA content exhibited a fairly close, statistically significant correlation with the dry matter weight of the whole plant and the P accumulation during the shooting phenophase
