Effect of gypsum, NPK fertilizer on growth and the nutrient status of rice plant grown on different rates

The pot experiment used soil sample from kabupaten Indramayu. The experiments were arranged in split-split plot with 3 replications. The salinity rate of the main plots were 0.355, 1.750 and 4.175/cm. The levels of gypsum as the sub plots were 0 and 12 ton/ha. The sub-sub plots were combinations of fertilizer and varieties. The combination of fertilizers were low, medium and high. The varieties used were 148, Batang Agam and IR54. The increasing rate of NPK fertilizer beside gypsum reclamation was beneficial for increasing as shown by better growth of the plants. The growing parameters collected were plant height, tiller number, leaf area and dry matter weight of the sheath, the leaves and the total plant. The Na content in the plants increased by increasing soil electrical conductivity. Reclamation by gypsum reduced the Na content in plants. The effect of increasing rate of NPK fertilizer on Na content in plants depended on Na content of the soils. Soils with lower Na, the Na content in plants increased by NPK fertilizer, but soils with higher Na, the Na content in plants was reduced by NPK fertilizer. The nitrogen absorption of sheath and leaves was significantly affected by the rate of soil salinity, the level of gypsum and the combination of NPK fertilizer
