Genetic variation, heritability, genetic advance and phenotypic and genotypic correlations for yield, yield components and quality traits were studies for two F3 populations of processing tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.). The study was conducted during 1989/1990 at the Jordan Univ. Farm in the Jordan Valley. Continuous variation was observed for all traits in both populations in dicating quantative inheritance of these traits. Genetic variances were significant for yield and yield components, but not significant for quality trait in both populations. Broad sense heritability and genetic advance estimates for yield and yield components were relatively high in both populations, including that improvement of these traits could be achieved by selection in early generations. On the other hand, heritability and genetic advance estimates for quality traits in both populations were low, therefore careful selection should be practiced for quality traits, or should not be practiced in early generations. Phenotypic and genotypic correlations among yield and yield components were positively and highly significant in both populations.The highest association was observed between yield and number of fruits per plant. Correlation coefficients between quality traits with yield and yield components were low indicating weak assosiation
