Among fungi isolated from the diseased pansies the most common were Botrytis cinerea, Fusarium oxysporum, F. culmorum, F. solani, Thielaviopsis basicola, Pythium debaryanum and Alternaria alternata. Fusarium species were the most dangerous for pansies. All those fungi damaged the roots and strongly reduced the growth of plants
