Genetic parameters of Polish Black-and-White cattle for milk yield and composition

Variance and covariance components for first lactation milk yield, as well as for fat and protein yield by the Restricted Maximum Likelihood (REML) method for Polish Black-and-White cattle were estimated. Estimated heritabilities of the analysed traits were approx. 0.20. The estimated correlation coefficients higher than 0.90 for milk, fat and protein yield were stated
