Effect of crops rotation and depth of ploughing on yield of spring barley

The response of spring barley on cultivation in rotation with contribution of 20 and 33 percent of the cereal plant on the light soil (good rye complex) in Agricultural Experiment Station Mochelek near Bydgoszcz was examined. The second factor was the depth of ploughing on 20 or 30 cm. The yield of spring barley was differentiated by weather conditions during vegetation period. The significant effect of crops rotation was stated on two years of investigation and only in one year the response of spring barley on depth of ploughing was proved. The crop rotation and depth of ploughing had only slight effect on the chosen yield components (plant density, number of ear shoots, number of grains per ear and mass of 1000 grains). These components were a little bit higher when ploughing was done on 20 cm or the contribution of spring barley in crop rotation was 20 percent
