The study was carried out to define the usefulness of the colorimetric method for determination of the cholinesterases activity in the hemolymph in honeybee workers and drones in subsequent months of the year. Several experiments were carried out every month. The cholinesterase activity was expressed in units described by the number of acetyl choline chloride micromoles hydrolysed by 1 ml of the studied fluid, i.e. the hemolymph, during one hour at 37 degrees C. The statistic analysis of results has shown that the lowest activity of the cholinesterase in honeybee workers was found in February and July and in the hemolymph of the drones in July, irrespective of degree of sexual maturity
