Traits of 19 species of Aegilops genus and of winter wheat cv. Rusalka were determined. It has been analysed such traits as: tillering, length of main shoot, diameter of the second internode from the plant base, spike rachis length, number of spikelets in the main spike compactness, number of grains in the middle spikelet, number and weight of grains in the main spike, main spike fertility, number and weight of grains per plant
