Factors hampering a process of adjustment to the market system are the fall in the incomes of the population and prolonged recession. Author stressed the necessity to develop economic cooperation between rural areas in Polish-German borderlands. In order to open up wider possibilities of this cooperation it is necessary to easy custom inspection procedure, to provide the areas discussed with institutional market information
