Results are presented of the study of esterase isoenzyme spectra in wheat plants of various genom content under pathogenesis caused by the root rot agent. A correlation has been stated between the resistance to fungal diseases and the molecular multiplicity of enzymes as well as relative activity of individual components. Therefore, the spectrum of esterase isoenzymes can serve as a criterion in the evaluation of plant resistance to fungal diseases
