Genetic differences among 4 rabbit populations on the basis of the analysis of 8 biochemical blood systems were determined. The results were as follows: 1. 5 systems were polymorphous (alfa 1BG, Ada, Hx, Pgd, Es-1). The highest number of alleles was in the alfa 1BG-system (5 codominant alleles). 2. 3 systems were monomorphous (Hb, Tf, GPI). 3. All observed populations were in the Hardy-Weinberger balance in all analyzed biochemical systems. 4. Chinchilla considerably differs from the other analyzed populations (Z, Ni, Nb). The genetic differences between Zobor, Nitra and New Zealand White rabbits were approximately the same. It shows the equality of these populations and their common origin. The lowest values of genetic differences between Zobor and Nitra rabbits (0.097) and between Zobor and New Zealand White rabbits (0.101) confirm, that the Zobor rabbit was bred on the base of Nb and Ni breed.
