Possibilities of preservation of early pig embryos for their utilization in embryo transfer

The optimal conditions for preservation of early pig embryos in practical conditions of rearing and possibilities of their transport from distant agricultural enterprises within Czechoslovakia were investigated. Embryos (344 psc) in developmental stage of 2-4 blastomeres were preserved 10-13 hours in the complete medium DULBECCO. Embryo losses represented only 1.45 percent after this time. The share of live born piggies from total number of transplanted embryos detected by laparoscopy achieved 20.40 percent.
