Microplant propagation of mangosteen in a short time could be done well culturing sterile seed onto modified MS medium with cytokinin. For cytokinin test, BA produced the best result on multiple shoot formation. The concentration used for multiples shoot formation was 20-50 micro mol. About 20 plants (at less than 0.5 cm shoot length) were produced from one seed within 3 weeks of culture. When microplants were transferred to the medium with decrease in the concentration of BA to 1 micro mol, each plant elongated with faster rate. For root formation, the meduim with 10 micro mol IAA 1 micro mol BA and 0.25 % activated charcoal produced the best result.
