Isotopic studies on the change of P-availability in acid upland soil as affected by ground rock phosphate and slaked lime

Greenhouse pot experiment was conducted to measure crop response, the uptake and availability of phosphorus by soybean as affected by Ground Rockphosphate and Slaked Lime in acid upland soil from the North. Ground rockphosphate (400, 800 and 1200 kg/rai) and Triplesuperphosphate (12 kg/rai) had been applied directly or combined with Lime (400, 700 and 900 kg/rai). Isotopec 32p carrier was added in each treatment as a tracer to calculate the P-Availability. The results showed no difference in growth and dry matter yield of the above ground plants. But the uptake and the availability of phosphorus were markedly increased in all treatments receiving Phosphate fertilizer. Higher P-Availability was obtained with application of Rockphosphate than the others and more pronounced at the rate of 800 kg/rai. Combination of Lime with Triplesuperphosphate indicate better P-Availability than with Rockphosphate. Liming only with basal N and K fertilizer showed some influence on P-Availability from the soil.
