Traces the development of national extension systems in the English-speaking Caribbean, provides a broad overview of their essential features, notes recent developments and highlights emerging priorities. Since its modest beginnings in the early 1900s, extension in the region has undergone many changes. Extension systems have grown in size, scope and functions, and they are now firmly established as key organisations in Ministries of Agriculture in most countries in the region.
