Immproved yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco grown in rainy season

Main objectives of this project were to improve yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco grown in rainy season during May to October 1985 at Mae Jo Tobacco Experiment Station, Chiang Mai. Tobacco leaf-spots were the most serious diseases in this period, it caused losses by reducing yield and quality. The 2,091.6 kg./Rai of green leaves, 288.8 kg./Rai of cured leaves and 7.24 of converted ratio were obtained. The chemical constituents of the cured leaf were 2.08 %, 1.82 % and 20.02 % for nicotine, nitrogen and reducing sugars, respectively.
