The coppice systems are adopted in firewood forest featuring of short rotation and multiple sprout regenerations. This results in unmatched age between suckers and root system, and certainly will affect the stand structure and biomass of black locust firewood forest. Studies showed that the sucker density, average height, average diameter at foot, leaf area index, stand biomass and productivity all increased with age before harvesting fuel wood. After the coppice systems were practiced, all growth parameters of the stand decreased except the slow increase of sucker number
