Tatabu floodplain non-fish aquatic wildlife: some preliminary results

The paper reports that except for the birdlife, most of the wildlife resources of Tatabu floodplain have been over-exploited to a point of extinction. The systematic list shows 72 bird species of which 27 (37.5) are aquatic. On habitat delineation, most birds prefer riparian evergreen vegetation. Most of the aquatic species prefer littoral and sandbark niches to the open water
