As of 1992, about 199 plants have been evaluated for pesticidal properties in the Philippines. Basically, the same plant species have pesticidal properties on certain species of a pest group which were evaluated against other species or other pests. Most of the studies and publications on botanical pesticides are from the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) [College, Laguna, Philippines], the lead agency on the botanical pesticide research in the country. This paper presents only salient developments from 1986 to 1992
