An optimization problem with two different quality indexes of a canola drying process in a rotary drier was stated. Series of computer simulation were carried out to predict air and dried material temperature, air and dried material moisture content, and a unit heat consumption used for dehydration. It was found that for tested drier the minimal unit moisture consumption is 5.50 MJ/kg H2O and optimal drum length is 9.00 m while the inlet air temperature is 140 degrees C and canola humidity is 23 percent
