Nitrogen fertilization was applied as Norway salpetre before maize sowing. Fertilizer amounts: 90, 180,, and 270 kg N/ha. The content of mineral nitrogen depended on fertilization intensity. High nitrogen fertilization (270 kg N/ha) can cause the changes in soil processes. This is expressed as quantitative and qualitative changes in the fauna of small soil invertebrates Acarina and Collembola
