Heritability of the major utility features of durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.)

The study was concerned with foreign variety lines of T. durum (Grandur, Primadur and Signadur) and their hybrids with a Polish line K-5/770. Generation F2 of the hybrids was sown in 10 x 20 cm grid. For each of the hybrid combinations the mean coefficients of phenotypal correlation, coefficients of variability, heritability in the broad sense, and the genetic progress were calculated. The values of the genetic progress were various for the different hybrids, relatively high values being obtained for such important elements as the plant height, number and weight of grains per ear, and TGW
