Effect of amount of sunshine on yield and chemical composition of sugar beet roots

The aim of the work was to characterize the amount of real sunshine during periods of 10 days in the vegetation season (Apr.-Oct.) and to determine the effect of this meteorological element on the yield and chemical composition of sugar beet content. A significant effect of sunshine on the sugar content was found in the second and third 10-day periods in July. The dry matter content in the roots was significantly effected by sunshine in the second and third 10-day periods in July and in the second and third 10-day period in September and in the first 10 days in October
