Apricot is an early, productive species, with a great ecological plasticity. The research carried out on sandy soils at Dabuleni, in an orchard of apricots on a soil scarcely supplied with mobile phosphorus (22-28 ppm) and assimilabble potassium (61-68 ppm), with 0.26-0.41 per cent humus, showed that apricot species turn to account chemical and organic fertilizers very well. The best results, like the gain in growth of the sedimentare, average length of sprouts, sums of annual growth, volume of the crown, were obtained by applying 30 t/ha manure, once every 3 years, and N100 P2O5-80 K2O100 kg/ha. Applying organic and mineral fertilizers led to an increased N content in leaves of 20-30 per cent, and of Pt and Kt by 30-35 percent, as compared to the control without fertilizers.
