The estimation of starch equivalent on the base of in vitro digestibility of organic matter in grass silages

For ten random samples of grass silage the content of starch equivalent (SE) was calculated after equation: SE (per kg) = digestible organic matter (g per kg) -0,06 digestible crude protein (g per kg) - crude fibre (g per kg) x (Alderman et al., Buysse). For the calculation in vitro digestibility of organic matter after Tilley and Terry was used. In vitro determinated digestibility of organic matter was corrected after equation Y 12,4 + 0,81 x (Aerts et al.). The samples which are analyzed chemically should be better described
