Effect of gibberellic acid and coating materials on quality of limes
1988
Prasanmit Ruangsri
Storage of limes at 10 deg. celsius, 85 % relative humidity was studied in combination with two coating materials (Citrus shine and Rinrei's) and GA. Both coating materials reduced the rate of weight loss of limes by one-half. Limes which were coated with Citrus shine gave better shiny appearance than those coated with Rinrei's. The use of gibberellic acid together with both coating materials delayed degreening for 2 weeks. A small change was found in soluble solids content and titratable acidity of coated limes. There were no significant changes in extractable juice and pH among different treatments.
