Effect of genotype on development of heifers, exploitation duration and lifetime production of cows in population of Black and White cattle

The obtained results on body development and its ability to change during growth of female breeding offspring to the age of 24 months, also the results on traits of fertility with special regard on the importance of crossbreeding, that is introducing of Holstein - Friesian genes into Black and White cattle population, indicate positive effects of this improvement method. Positive effects are also reflected in obtaining and breeding of heifers with better body development, and later on also better milk yield. However, the effect of crossbreeding on the traits of longevity and lifetime productivity was not completely in accordance with the objective of breeding, and this was primarily the influence of paragenetic factors.
