Influence of sowing date and density on protein and oil content in soybean grain

In a three-year field experiment, effects of 6 sowing dates and 3 sowing densities on the content and yield of protein and oil in grain of three soybean varieties were analysed. Late sowing decreased the content of proteins in the early variety NS-6 and increased it in the late variety Corsoy, but generally tended to reduce the yield of proteins as well as the content and yield of oil. The increased sowing density tended to increase protein and decreased oil content in grain of all varieties.
