Based on the examination of nine populations from various regions of Serbia (Yugoslavia), it can be concluded that the needed populations with highly uniform genetic material (populations eight and nine with a hexaploid number of chromosomes) can be chosen for further work on breeding and creating new cultivars of the species Agrostis stolonifera.
