[Present state and prospects of development of dreissena, Dreissena polymorpha Pallas, in Narach lakes]

Bivalve mollusc dreissena first appeared in Narach lake in 1985. At present, its population in lakes Narach, Myastra i Batoryna amounts to 741, 657 and 252 exemplars per m exp (2) respectively, the biomass is 95.6, 416 and 74 g/m exp (2). Dreissena population filters water volume equal to reservoir volume in summer time in lakes Narach, Myastra and Batoryna over the period of 123, 17 and 54 days exerting a significant effect on the lake ecosystem
