This thesis, had as primary objective to determine the effect of four levels of Biorend, 0,0, 1,0, 1,5 and 2,0 L per 100 kg of seed, on the yield components, yield and some agronomic and industrial characters, like plant height, foliar area, protein and oil content and yield in four early soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill.) genotypes, planted in summer as a second crop. The experiment was conducted in a split plot design with four treatments and four replications for foliar area and six replications for the other characters studied. Plots were hill plots with ten plants, spaced at 75 cm. Differences among treatments were estimated through analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test (0,05) and quadratic regressions when appropriate. Biorend did not show significant effects on number of pods per hill plot, grains per pod, 100-grain weight and yield. Quadratic response were observed for foliar area and plant height. The levels of Biorend used did not show a defined effect in the protein content, while the oil content showed a mean increase of 1% in relation to the control. On the average of the four genotypes studied, Biorend increased the foliar area in 3% and plant height in 4% as compared to the control, when used in rates of 1,0 and 1,5 L per 100 kg of seed, respectively
