Effects of plant densities and nitrogen fertilizer rates on the yield of mature seedling Kenya tea
1995
Wanyoko, J.K. | Owuor, P.O.
In a 32-year-old seedling tea field planted at four plant densities of 5383, 7179, 8611 and 10766 plants per hectare, four rates of NPKS (25:5:5:5) fertilizer at 0, 80, 160 and 320 Kg N/ha were superimposed as sub-treatment to produce a 4x4 split-plot design. The yield for seven years indicated that high plant density had accrued benefit compared to the low density. Raising the fertilizer rates increased the yield in a quadratic manner. No significant interactions between the plant densities and the fertilizer rates were noted
