Assessment of evapotranspiration, soil moisture and green biomass of grassland using NOAA satelite images

The satelite AVHRR/NOAA (Advanced Very High Resolution of Radiometer/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) data were used to elaborate the method for green biomass assessment. The methods of assessement evapotranspiration, soil moisture, LAI (Leaf Area Index), soil moisture, biomass wet and dry on the basis of satelite images were tested for the year 1989-92 at the test site situated in western part of Poland. All meteorological parameters needed as the ancilliary data were collected at the test site and the meteorological station situated few kilometers from the test site.The results of radiative temperature from AVHRR/NOAA, NDVI, evapotranspiration, soil moisture, LAI and biomass were presented in the form of maps for the test site. Also the review of crop yield models was presented and the possibilities implementation of presented methods were described
