Final report of the twenty-first international irrigated rice observational nursery (21ST IIRON, 1994)

The 21st IIRON composed of 192 test entries originating from 20 countries, IRRI, and CIAT; three international checks (IR36, IR58, and BR51-282-2); and two best local varieties as local checks, was evaluated at 64 test sites in 19 countries. Observations on seedling vigor, days to 50% flowering, plant height, and grain amylose content were recorded. The most promising entries identified were BG1639, CL Seleccion 56, CT8008-3-5-8P-M-2P, IR47310-87-2-1-2, IR40750-116-3-2-3-2, IR49442=9-1-1-1-3, IR54054-171-3-3-3-3, IR58800-302-3-1-3. IIRON entries recently utilized in rice breeding programs of participating countries are also cited
