Yield of haploid plants of spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in anther culture in vitro depending on composition of sugars in nutrient medium

Practical application of androgenic haploids is still limited by a small number of haploid individuals recovered from others. We compared 6 media (with sucrose, maltose and glucose, liquid and solid ones and 5 genotypes of spring wheat) (F1 hybrids). In the following experiment we studied the dynamics of hydrolysis and utilization of carbohydrates in 3 liquid media in a more responsive genotype. The liquid glucose media was best. Using this media we obtained green haploid plants from breeding material which was initially nonresponsive. Liquid media contained 3 different carbohydrates, they differed in their osmotic regimes and in composition of utilized carbohydrates
