Changes of phosphorus status in paddy soil after application of phosphate fertilizer and lime were investigated by incubating 5 soil groups (i.e. Acid Sulfate soils: Fresh Water Alluvial soils; Low-Humic Gley Soil, Loamy; Grumusols and Low-Humic Gley soils, Sandy) under submerged condition at room temperature for 3 weeks. Lime application increased available phosphorus. Available phosphorus was increased markedly when lime and phosphate fertilizer were applied together. Inorganic phosphorus was the form of phosphorus that accumulated when only phosphate fertilizer was applied. Aluminum-P and Ca-P were increased whereas Fe-P was decreased when lime and phosphate fertilizer were applied together. Easily extractable phosphorus also increased tremendously.
