Fate of soil phosphorus and added phosphate in various soil groups of rice

Greenhouse experiment was conducted to investigate fate of soil phosphorus and added phosphate in five soils namely Acid Sulfate Soil (ASS), Fresh Water Alluvial Soil (FWAS), Low-Humic Gley Soil loamy (LHGSL) Grumusol and Low Humic Gley Soils Sandy (LHGSS). Under flooded condition there was no change in the amount of Al-P and Ca-P in most Soils except in Grumusol. A decrease of Fe-P was found in FWAS, LHGSL and LHGSS but increase in ASS and it was no change in Grumusol. Occluded-P was decreased in ASS, FWAS and Grumusol but increased in LHGSL and LHGSS. From these results the important sources of available P for rice are : Oc-P in ASS; Fe-P in FWAS: Org-P, Al-P and Fe-P in LHGSL Al-P, Fe-P as well as Oc-P in Grumusol and Ca-P, Al-P and Fe-P in LHGSS. The added phosphate fertilizer was accumulated mainly in forms of Al-P and Fe-P in all soil used. In addition after rice cultivation Org-P was increased in most soil except in LHGSL, this phenomenon was found in both added and non-added phosphate.
