Determination of organic matter in stream water and sediment in sub-river basin of the lower South
1990
Wilasinee Skonkamhaeng
Average values of organic matter concentration in stream water and sediment of the first to the fifth watershed classed were 10.93, 10.71, 9.58, 14.05, 16.76 mg/l and 2.54, 1.74, 0.84, 2.39 and 2.76 % respectively. In sediment contained more organic matter than stream water and when the organic matter content in stream water was increased the organic matter content in sediment was also higher. The quantity of organic matter in stream water showed good correlation with the watershed classification but was not significant to use as the criteria for watershed classification. Factors that could influence the quantity of organic matter contents were landuses, waterdrainage efficiency of each watershed as well as the quantity and the flow rate of water during seasonal changes.
