Water requirement and the realization of rational irrigation regime of soybean

The paper deals with water requirement and the application of rational irrigation regime of soybean under the conditions in Vojvodina (Yugoslavia). Water requirement vary in a wide range depending on pedoclimatic conditions of agroecologic region, soybean variety and its ripening group. A particular attention was paid to determining soybean water requirement under Yugoslav conditions, soil moisture dynamics and soil water balance. It is considered the problem of rational irrigation regime applying various irrigation methods, first of all sprinkler irrigation with different equipment, specialy in exploiting center pivot and linear machines. It is evaluated the effect of irrigation on the increase of yield and quality of soybean under Yugoslav conditions.
